A REBUKE. INTRUSION OF BISHOPS' PREROGATIVES.
(Received November 21, 9.20 a.m.) LONDON, 20th "November. The Bishops of Worcester (Dr. Yeat-man-Biggs) and St. Asaph (Dr. Edwards) seve'.ely rebuked Viscount Halifax and Lord Hugh Cecil for issuing what was equivalent to a pastoral letter to the parochial clergy on the education question, an actoon which their lordships look upon as an unwarrantable intrusion on the Bishops' prerogative. [Lords Halifax and Cecil arc leading lights of the English Church Union Their circular urged incumbents in England and Wales to' endeavour to defeat the proposed compromise.]
