THE RETURN OF THE MARAMA. Released from the Vancouver trade during tho lull in the passenger season, he Union Company's fine passenger steamer Marama has returned to the intercolonial service, in which running she first appeared last year. Captain Worrall, formerly of the Moeraki, is now in command, and has the following officers associated with him :— Chief, Mr. A. C. Showman; second, Mr. H. C. Saunders; third, Mr. G. Knowles; fourth, Mr. J. Reid; purs>er, Mr. W. B. Craske ; assistant purser, Mr. C. C. Stewart; Mr. 1\ Mudie is chief engineer, his assistants being Messrs. J. M'Alpine, A. Young, J. Innes, J. Maxwell, G. Luke, M. Walker; electrician, Mr. Gothard: Mr. C. Watson is steward-in-charge. The Marania, which haa come from Melbourne, left that port with a very large cargo, consisting of over 2200 tons, of which 1800 tons were for New Zealand. Dried fruits comprised the largest item on the manifest, there being a total quantity of about 30,000 packages. The principal lines discharged at this port to-day were as follow :— SO cases sugar, 23 crates cherries, 1220 packages tea, 60 crates onions, 240 sacks potatoes, 147' cases milk, 464 sacks oats, ICO bags rice, 200 bags flour, 159 cases candles, 1526 bags superphosphates, 344 packages dried fruits, 1156 pieces timber, and S3 cases frnit. A CALCUTTA TRADER. Intimation to the Union Company notifies that the Aparima is to leave Calcutta next Wednesday for New Zealand ports. THE INWARD LIVERPOOL LINER. It will be Jibout tho end of the present month when the Federal-lloulder-Shire liner Devon, from Liverpool, will reach this port. She is now en rotate between Sydney and Auckland, and is expected at the latter port next Tuesday.
