Mr. J. P. Luke continued his second ballot campaign at St. Thomas's Hall, Newtown, last night. Mr* A. A. White* law presided, At the eUH Air, kuUa referred to a number of pgagratutatpry,

telegrams he had received from all over the Dominion, including one from the Hon. Mr. Guinness, Speaker of the House of Representatives. (Applause.) 'The candidate then reviewed * the principal planks of his political platform. In regard to the License problem, he was in favour of maintaining the threefifths majority principle in deciding the question of No-license. He was prepared also to consrder the question of the elimination of the reduction issue from the licensing poll. Mr. Luke again gave an absolute denial of the allegations circulated against him in his private capacity as an employer of labour. He regretted the introduction of such an element into the campaign, but he was prepared to stand or fall by the testimony of his present and past employees. (Applause.) A number of questions were answered, and a vote of thanks and confidence carried.
