THORNDON DINGHY SAILING CLUB.
YESTERDAY'S RACE. A handicap race was held yesterday evening by the Thorndon Dinghy Sailing Club for a trophy presented by Messrs. Scott. The contestants and their starts were as follow : — Ajax, 4min ; Rona, 3imin; Spray, 2min; Vera, 14' mm; Blowfly, lmin. A light northerly wind enabled the email craft to carry; a good spread of canvas. Thelma, Blowfly, and Zol gained upon the limit boats, and eventually the fust-named sailed into the lead, closely accompanied by, Rona and Vera in that order. The run home was well contested, and the finishing line was crossed by the first six •boats, only a short interval dividing each. Thelma, which was /the winner, covered the course in 42min. The others completed in tho folio-wing, order; Vera, Rona, Ajax, Blowfly, Zel, and Spray. Next Wednesday's race is for a prize awarded by Mr. F. M'Keever. Points scored to date by the various dinghies are as follow : Thelma, 26 ; Aiax, 23 ; Blowfly, 18; Vera, 17; Rona, 16; Oeo, 13 j Zel, 12; Spray, 7.
