Further evidence was given before Dr. M'Arthur, S.M., this morning in the hearing of a claim for £100 damages by James Alexander Reade, commercial traveller, against John Curran, licensee of the Terminus Hotel, for an assault alleged to have been committed on the 26th October. Mr. Toogood appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. M'Grath for the defendant. Curran's evidence alleged that tho quarrel was provoked by Reade, who began the fisticuffs by striking him on tho cheek and blacking his eye.
