The vessel is due at Port Chalmers on the 23rd inst. The British ship British Yeoman was sold at San Francisco just before the last mail left for about £2000. She voyaged from Sydney to the Californian port, and ever since her arrival there she has been plastered by libels and liens. The last straw fell when she dragged her anchor and raked a few holes in the British barque Dmmmuir, and at the same time did herself much damage. The British Yeoman is said to have been owned in Sydney, and when the owners found that the liens on the ship exceeded her value they decided to let her go. Before leaving Dunedin for Port Chalmers the Karamea loaded 4224 sacks of oats for London.
