MR. WINDER'S CANDIDATURE.
Mr. G. Winder continued his election campaign at Victoria Hall last evening, when he addressed a large meeting of electors of Wellington East. Mr. B. Dawson presided. At. the conclusion of Mr. Winder's address, which was on similar lines to those delivered at previous meetings, some questions were asked by a small number of the Socialist Party. A vote of thanks and confidence was accorded to Mr. Winder.
Looking at the map of the two islands of New Zealand, said Mr. D. J. Nathan, at the railway dinner yesterday afternoon, one is struck by the number of branch railway lines in the South. "We want development in the North ; we want the land opened up," he declared. During the next decade he hoped to see a development of the North Island i-%-ift .escßßs,,.Qf the resold gf the cast.
