WELLINGTON ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY.
The concert announced * for next Thursday evening, 12th insfc., promises to be a function of unusual interest, and will, it is expected, be well supported. Those who were fortunate enough to bo present «tt the last recital given in the Town Hall by Marjc Hambourg, .m which occasion he was, at very brief notice, assisted by the band of the revived society, will look forward with pleasure to its more formal appearance on the concert platform. An attractive and varied programme has been provided, which includes among its items several tried and popular favourites, though all may properly be designated "legitimate music." Mr. Hill is the conductor, and has spared no pains in the training of his forces, which number fifty-two local instrumentalists. Schubert's B-Minor Symphony (unfinished) will be one of the features of the concert. Mr. John Prouse will be the vocalist of the evening.
