AMBULANCE SATURDAY.
ST. JOHN ASSOCIATION. The "Ambulance Saturday" colleclections have now reached a total of >w292 10s 2d. At a meeting of the St. John Ambulance Association Nursing Guild yesterday, Mrs. S. A. Rhodes presided. Mrs vV. H. S. Moorhouse, Mrs. W. H. Preston, Miss M. Higgie, and Mrs. W*. B. Fisher (hon. secretary) were also piesent. Mrs. W. B. Tripe sent an apology for non-attendance. , It was reported that during October Nurses Sexton and Macandrew had paid /49 visits Jo the sick poor. Thirteen additional patients were registered and twelve discharged. The following resolution was passed m reference to Ambulance Saturday : "That the committee wish to record its grateful thanks to the lady collectors and all others for their kind efforts in so ably assisting to make Ambulance Saturday a success, notwithstanding the bad weather and scarcity of money, and the newspaper authorities are specially thanked for their kindness in giving publicity to the aims of the promoters of Ambulance Saturday." Gifts of clothing, etc., have been received from Mesdames Cohen, Young, Wright, Watson, Preston, Simkin, Bignell, Partridge, Tripe, Evans, Wilson, Hislop, Mrs. "M.," Kia Ora Girls' Realm Guild, Gear Co., Erwin and A Friend.
