LAWN TENNIS ASSOCIATION.
ADJOURNED MEETING. The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association resumed its annual meeting last night. J'he amended rules were adopted. The definition of an amateur is t» receive the attention of a special •committee, which will report at a future meeting. Resignation from the New Zealand Sports Federation was resolved upon, as ifc was considered that the federation was an obsolete body. In recognition of the services renaered by Mr. G. N. Goldie to lawn tennis in New Zealand, It was decided to make a presentation to Mrs. Goldie. A special committee was set up to select a fitting souvenir. A resolution of thanks was.yoted to tvlr. V. H. Baxter (representative on the Australasian Association), Dr. Eaves (representative on the English Association), and to the secretary and officers of the association. Officers were appointed as follow: — Patron, Lord Plunket ; president, Mr. C. H. Broad (Nelson) ; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. R. Holmes (Auckland), W. Goss (Ohristchurch), F. Logan (Hawke's Bay), O. J. W Griffiths (Marlborough), H. R. Duncan (Nelson), H. E. Harraway (Otago), Dr. Leatham (Taranaki), H M. Gore (Wellington), and Dr. Teichelmann (West Coast); delegate to English Lawn Tennis Association, Dr. Eaves; commitltee of management, Messrs. J. C. Peacock, A. Young, R. M. K. Swanston, E. Salmond, G. A. Hurley, and F. R. Laishley (Messrs. Denni^ton and Howe, who were previously on the committee, retired) ; appeal committee, Messrs. E. J. Ross, V. A. Laurie, P. Wilding, A. F. Wright, W. Goss (all of Chnstchurch) ; auditor, Mr. S. G. Mackay.; secretary and treasurer, Mr. G. N. Goldie.
