OTAGO ASSOCIATION. (BY TKLEOBArH. — PBESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN. 2nd November. The Otago Cricket Association has resolved that arrangements would probably bo made for an Otatro team to play a match at Now Plymouth if a team went to Auckland to play the Plunket Shield match ; that it^ was impossible to play a two-days' match with Southland on 7th and 9th November, as it would interfere with the local cricket. Tho following motion was also adopted: — "That the committee regrots that the New Zealand Council should have granted permission to any other association to play a challenge match for the Plunkefc Shield before the Otago and Auckland match. No notification of the resolution stated to have been passed at a meeting of the New Zealand Council on 16th. July had been forwarded to this association, and if the New Zealand Council adheres to its decision to allow Canterbury to play Auckland at Christmas, this association will have to withdraw its challenge as a protest against the action of the oouncil." The chairman (Mr. F. H. Campbell) said it seemed to him the council was breaking faith with Otago, and commented on the fact that no official reply had been received to the Otago Association's letter on the matter, the only [ communication being from the Otago delegates to the council. WEDNESDAY ASSOCIATION. The above Association held a. meeting in the New Zealantler Hotel last evening. Mr. Geo. Burton occupied the chair. Mr. Cusack, on behalf of the Ground Committee, reported that though the Athletic Park was in good condition he thought it i advisable that the seniors should be kept together on the Basin Reserve. The meet- , ing decided that the Wellington Cricket ' Association should have its attention drawn to the present arrangement of Wednesday wickets at the park, with a. view to obtaining more convenient positions. The Red Cross, Club received permission to play a scratch match against the Hairdressers' Club on 4th November At the suggestion of the Horowhenua Association it was decided that a team be sent to Levin on 9th November. The Selection Committee was instructed to select" a team. It was decided that until satisfactory wickets are supplied at the Athletic Park no senior matches be played there. The employees of the C. and A. Odlin Timber and Hardware Company have decided to form a cricket club, to be designated the Odlin and Co. Cricket Club. Officers were appointed as follow:—President, Mr. C. Odlin ; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Odlin, G. Heron, and P Field; seoretary and treasurer, Mr. M'Leod; captain, 1 Mr. H.
