THE INQUESTS. [BY TELEGRAPH — PRESS ASSOCIATION,] TIMARU, 2nd November. At the inquest on Miss Selbie, killed by a motor accident on Thursday evening, a verdict of accidental death was returned. The jury added a rider to the effect that the driver of the motor ear which ran over deceased showed veant of judgment in not stopping immediately when the traps collided, but attributed no blame to him. BULLS, 2nd November. At an adjourned inquest at Bulls today touching the death of L. Worthinglon, victim of the recent motor-car fatality near Bulls, a verdict of accidental death was returned. (By Teleguaph. — Speciat, to The Post.] PALMERSTON NORTH, This day. Very little new information was elicited at the inquest at Bulls yesterday. The evidence^ wa3 unanimous in the direction of showing that Lynn M'Kelvie, driver and owner of the car, was sober, though he had four or five small shandies at Bulls just before the accident. Moasure- | ments taken of the scene show that tho road is 21ft wide. The car left the road and ran on the sido for 75yds. It then reached the culvert, where the accident occurred. Tho car was found j 90ft from the culvert. M'Kelvie said that as they were ap- | proaching the culvert deceased told him to look out, as they were driving on the i F'do of the load A chain further on 1 deceased praobsd the steering wheel. A hoie oil tiij siuo of the road helped witness to gain some control ovor the ,car. He thought he could get on to the rond 1 Wfo<-e coming to the culvert, lie said ; (o deceased: "For God's sake let go." j The wheels of the car went over the edge of tho culvert, and deceased was thrown out. Tho steering wheel being released from deceased's grip, came round suddenly and turned the car into the other sido of the 'road, lie considered they vrorc travelling at tho rato of 26 miles an hour.
