There was no work of importance at Ellerslie this morning. Mark Time did a round of schooling hurdles, fencing well. Muskerry, Aborigine, Maori King, Douche, Reservoir, Dardanus, Miss Advance, Tarini, Ikon, and Bullworth have arrived, all looking well. It was an off morning at Riccarton, but fairly interesting work was done, j Penates went a mile in lmin 45 3-ssec, ' and appears to be in great heart. Gipsy Belle easily defeated Gold Crest oyefvhalf ti mile in 49 l-ssec, Mahuta did six furlongs in lmin 18sec, and Master Delaval, Zimmerman, and Grand Slam went two miles at three-quarter pace, brushing home over the last four furlongs, Master Delaval holding the others safe. Diabolo held All Red safe over a mile and a quarter, cut out in 2min 15 3-ssec. Lady Medallist defeated Latchet over four furlongs in 49 4-ssec, Tangimoana beat Advantage over six furlongs in lmin 17sec, Apa ran six furlongs alone, Downfall did a strong working gallop of a mile ancV a half, the last ten furlongs occupying 2min 18 2-ssei% Lyrist was set a good schooling task over six flights. After breakfast, Stormont and Whatakura fenced well. Pellicle anS Ennuis were given strong work with sweaters on. Half to three-quarters work was the portion of the others out.
