HOWELL.— On the 31st October, 1908, at his residence, Raetihi, Richard Christopher Howell, eldest son of Mrs. Thomas Howell, AGelaide-road, in his 48th year (died suddenly); deeply regretted. !TOMPKINS.— On the 2nd November, at her daughter's residence (Mrs. Evans, 42, Owenstreet, Newtown), Margaret Tompkins (formerly Margaret Gray), of TJust, Shetland Isles, and relict of the late \V. H. Torapkins, of Palmerston North, aged 77 years; deeply regretted. KNOWLES.— On the 2nd November, 1908, at her residence, 1, Mowbray-street, Wellington, Elizabeth, relict or* the lute Mr. John Knowles, aged 81 years. Private interment. No flowers. BUTLER.— On the 2nd November, 1008, at his residence, Karori-crescent, Thomas Patrick, beloved husband of Mary Butler, and eldest son of Catherine and the late James Butler, aged 20 years. R.I.P.
