CRICKET. AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION.
[BT TELEGRAPH. — PEES 3 ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, 25th Septembei. Tho annual meeting of the Auckland Cricket Association was held to-night. Much interest was taken in the proceedings. The University Club delegates sat for the first time, the university being allowed the privilege of ranking as a, district. The principal officers were reelected, Mr. F. Earl being appointed d vice-president of the New Zealand Cricket Council, and Messrs. Young and Ridley delegates for the Auckland Association to the New Zealand Cricket Council. - A proposal from the Eden Disti-ict club in modification of the district scheme to the effect that a player, after having resided, in and played for a district for five years, should be allowed the option, on removal to another district, of playing for his old club was negatived by the narrow, margin of one vote. - % MIDLAND CLUB. Mr. M. F. Stephenson presided over tho twenty-sixth annual meeting of the Midland Cricket Club held last evening. The report and balance-sheet, a summary of which has already been published in The Post, were adopted. Twelve new members were elected and two resignations, accepted. After sumo little dis-' cussion it was agreed to fix the subscription for third and fourtn class members at £1 per annum. The following officers were elected for the ensuing season : — President, Mr. J. Duthie ; vice-presidents, Dr. Anson, Dr. Newman, JMessrs. H. D. Bell, K.C., T. G. Macarthy, A. Blacklock, F. Grady, S. Diamond. J. E. Staples, F. Holdsworth, A. Mitchell, and J. H. Faiibairn; club captain, Mr. A. B. Williams ; practice captains, Messrs. D. J. Wighton, C. Manson, and D» Patrick ; general committee, Messrs. W. T. Wynyard, C. Hickson, C. H. Clinkard, C. Mitchell, 'and D. Wighton; senior match committee, Messrs. W. T. "Wynyard, C. Mitchell, and C. Hickson; junior ma£ch committee, Messrs. W. 0. Bock, D. Wighton, and C. H. Ghnkard ; hqn. secretary, Mr. W. 0. Bock ; hon. treasurer, Mr. C. Manson ; assistant hon. treasurer, Mr. C. H. Clinkard ; hon. auditor, Mr. E. F.* Upham ; delegates to Wellington Cricket Association, Messrs. C. Hickson, W. 0. Bock, and C. Maneon. -Mr. E. F. Upham was elepted a life member of the club. Mr. F. Grady's trophy was presented to Mr. Clinkard in recognition of services rendered by him to the club during the past year. Votes of thanks to the chiarman andi press concluded the meeting.
