Some bad , cases of truancy were brought by the Trnanfc Inspector (Mr. J. Dineen) before Mr. Riddell, S.M., to-day. Two children of nine years of age had not passed the First Standard. One, thirteen years old, had only passed Standard 111., while another, nearly fourteen years of age, had just passed Standard IV. Only 51 attendances were recorded in one instance out of the possible 144. Salutary fines were inflicted by his Worship.
