It is reported from Simla that the Mohmands and Khuda Khel have forwarded to the Ameer a petition to the effect that they attacked the British at tho instance of frontier officials, who have now deserted them. Unless helped quickly they intend to transfer their country to Britain. Tho Afridis have written to a leading mullah that they do not need any more mullahs to stir up trouble and then disavow and desert them, as in the case of the Mohmands.
