LODGE MEETINGS.
The Pride of Brooklyn Lodge, U.A.0.D., held its half yearly meeting in the Church of England schoolroom on- Thursday evening. Bro. A. Drumrannd, A.D. presided. Nominations were received for the various offices as follows:— A.D. , Bro. O'Hagan ; V.A., Bro. Andrews j Secretary, Bro. Benson ; Treasurer, Bro. Wallis ; 1.G., Bros. Sinclair and Mills ; A.D.8., Bros. Ellidtt and Perrofc; V.A.8., Bro. F. M'Kay ; 0.G., Bros., Mills and Sinclair; Auditor, Bro. Boock ; J.P.A., Bro. Drummond. Grand Secretary, Bro. Grant paid the lodge an official visit and received a hearty vote of thanks. The King's Coronation Lodge of Good Templars, No. 83, held a reunion of past and present members at its lodgeroom on Friday. Bro. H. J. Harris, C.T., presided in the absence of Bro. G. Petherick, G.S. There was. a largo attendance of past members, as well as present ones. Bro. A. B. Thomson, G.T., gave a short address, urging past members to return to the active work of temperance, and exhorting all to vote for no-license at the coming poll. A varied programme was contributed to by the following: — Misses Hendicot, Cunninghame, Staples, Mrs. Lewis, Messrs. Kerr, Henry, Murphy, Pearce, Hitchcock, Spencer, and Heke. Miss i Hendicot was the accompanist. ! The Star of Wellington Lodge of Good Templars held its weekly session in Richards's Hall, Bro. R. H. Rigarlsford, Chief Templar, presiding, One new member was admitted on clearance. The item of the evening was a lecturette by Bro. A. B. Thomson, Grand Treasurer, entitled "Comic Opera Kingdom," being an account of the Tongan Islands and their governing powers. Greetings were received from several Hawkes Bay lodges' and reciprocated.
