CRICKET.

.WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION, 14.' meeting of the management committee of the Wellington. Cricket Association was held last night. Mr s C. A. Richardson presided. Tho '.Manawatu Cricket Association wrote to convey its best thanks to the association for tho splendid treatment accorded tho team during its recent visit to Wellington. The amount to tho credit of the tour account was stated by the New Zealand Crick* Council to be £13 14s, distributable amongst the various associations which guaranteed tho council. Tho amount owed by tho council to its guarantors was £135, against which, it had only £40 in hand. It was resolved, on tho request of tho council, that the association should agree to allow the £13 14s to go towards reducing 'tho council's deficit. The Wadestown Club entered a protest against tho junior championship being awarded to the Waiwetu Club. It was stated that at tho commencement of tho season the teams were arranged in two grades, A and B, the winner of each grade to play off for the championship. In grade A Wadestown won all their matches, and subsequently defeated Midland, the winner of grade 13. Then tho" club was informed that the rule had been v discarded. They wereasked to play Waiwetu, who, it is andarstood, declined tho match. Later the association decided to rearrango fixtures, compelling the Wadestown Club to play one of the B grade teams. After reference to the rules tho committee decided to dismiss tho protest.
