He repeuted^th© complaint of South Wellington business people that business, which formerly went to South Wellington, from the Kilbirnie district now went to tho city through tho tunnel. Ho felt that the work must bo dono soon, as tho tunnel was quito inadoquato for tho rapidly growing traffic, and the extension would give an alternntivo routo to Miratnar and Seatoun. The Muyor pointed out that the extension had been before tho conncil fiom time to time, and a report was prepared by tho engineer/ This report ■wns hold ovev for financial reasons.
