WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. The management committee of the Wellington Cricket Association met last evening. Mr. A. T. Bate presided. The chief matter boforo the committee was the question of engaging a coach. The chairman thought that a special meeting might bo called before the end of the season to consider th& matier. If the association granted ;i certain amount out of their funds the rest, might be raised by public subscription. This proposal was supported by members, who held thafc r there were a number of enthusiasts who would be glad to subscribe annually 1 towards, the fund. In connection with the same. matter the chairman remarked on the necessity for getting tetter wicketi.. It would bo better, he said, that one or moro matches in the senior championship should bo played every Saturday on a private ground such as the Athletic Park, Where a charge could' be mado for admission. The game would be just as well patronised and the result would be ample revenue to the association. Other drawbacks to the present ground were mentioned in the small boy nuisance md lack _of seating accommodation. The meoting was generally in favour of engaging a coach. The date for the match with Hawkes Bay at Napier was fixed for the 26th, 27th, and 28th March, while the game with Manawatu on the Athletic Park was arranged for the 13th and 14th March. Instructions were given to the secretary to onforce tho penalties under rule 22 in the caso of clubs failing to pay fees due by them to the association.
