A man named Robinson baa been arrested and has confesßod that ho attempted to rob tho gatekeepeT at the Barnawartha racos. A revolver and a false beard wore found in his possession. A cable message yesterday stated that ■ jupt before the chief event at the Bar- , navvartha (nofc Canawatha) races, a ! masked man stuck up the gatekeepers, . and demanded the takings. A struggle i, ensued, and it is said the man deliberj ately fired his revolver at one of tho - keepers, luckily without effect.
