CITY COUNCIL DISSATISFIED. [Br TELEGItAPH. — SI'ECIAL TO TIIE PoST.j' AUCKLAND. This Day. Matters in connection with tho tramway service have given riso to a great deal of dissatisfaction lately, owing to the- frequent interruptions in the service — especially during the busy period of" the evenings. At the meeting cf the City Council last night the council's oloctrical engineer roported that tho interruptions had boen in most caaes duo to insufficient steam tit hoavy load periods, but that a new plant was being erected which it was exported would get over the trouble. The council resolved to notify tho the company that it is not satisfied with tho presen* condition of affairs and ask to havo it remedied forthwith. Strong language was used by some of the councillors, the policy of the comnuriy being described as "a skinflint and meagre one," whilst the condition on tho sorvicc was referred to as "scandalous." Tho traffic inspector was instructed to order off a number of noisy cars and to prepare a case for failure to keep the timetable.
