Silver, 2S|d. WOOL SALE. [BY TBLEGHAPH.— PHEt!3 ASSOCIATION.] TIMARU, 27th February. The final wool sale was held to-day. There was a small attendances of buyers, mostly local, and competition was slack, but the bulk of the small catalogue -was cleared. First halfbrcd, 7£d to B#d : second and thtfee-quarter bred, 6^d to 7d ; crossbred, 6id to 7id; cottcd and dead, 4|cl to 5Ad ; bellies and pieces, 3id to sd ; locks, 3d to 3£d. LONDON MARKETS. Dalgot-y and Co., LVd., Wellington, have received tlie' following Cable messages .from their London' house undor date of tho 26th inst. : — Wool — We expect a decline in prices at no\t sales. The quantity of Australasian and Capo wool available for next series (March) including old stock, but deducting quantity, forwarded v direct" to manufacturers is estimated at over 200,000': tales. Wheat— The mstrk6t is firm and there is a bet? tor feeling prevailing. Butter— Tho market continues to decline. 'HORSE SALE. Dalgety aiid Co. Ltd., report having submitted upwards of forty horses ?t their fortnightly sale on Wednesday. There was an exceptionally good attendance of buyers, and a large number of horses found , purchasers under the hammer. Results generally wero very encouraging <o tho auctioneers. Tho chief entries wero on account of Messrs. Watts and Dyke. Thore was also a consignment from Levin and thefo being subject to trials and guaranteed sound, elicited good competition. Draughts sold to £37, -van horses £22 10s to £24, butchers' delivery horses £13 10s to £16, gig horses £12 to £17, aged express horses £63 5s to- £12, brougham and pair £28 10s, ponies (broken) £4 12s 6d to £4 17s 6d, unbroken £3 10s to £4 ss. UPPER HUTT STOCK. Messrs Dalgeiv and Co., LTd., report having submitted a heavy entiy of both sheep and cattle to a- large attendance of buyers. There was good competition for sheep, and, with one exception, all lines were cold, pricos being very satisfactory in comparison with thos-e ruling in other districts. The majority of the cattle were disposed of, but prices were in favour of buyers. Some choice dairy cows, elicited good bidding, prices being in excess of previous sales this season. There was a heavy entry of fat cattle, all lines changing hands. Fat wethers told at 15s ; fat lambs 10s 6d to 11s, 4 and 6-tooth ewes 10s, 2-tooth to f.f.m. ewes 7s 6d to 8s 9d, others 5s 6d, forward lambs, 6s lid to 7s, culls 4s 4d" to 4s 10d, 2-tooth wethers 8s to 9s 7d, aged Romney rams 1 guinea, 4-tooth Lincoln rams 3£ guineas, fat bullocks £6, store bullocks £3, fat heifers £4 7s 6d, springing cows with second calf £6 7s 6d to £6 15s, others to £3 15s, forward cows £2 17s 6d, store cows £1 10s to £1 18s 6d, yearling heifers 19s to 255, 2year heifer 295, 3-year empty heifers, £2 10s, bulls 15s to £1, 18-months trop filly £8, 4-year unbroken express mare £14 10s.
