LATE. BOWLING.
The two visiting Maitai Bowling Club tennis which are touring this er.d of the island played a game against the Victoria. Club this morning, and sxiffered defeat by four points. This afternoon they are playing on the Ncwtown gieen, and to-morrow morning- they will play Wellington, and in the afternoon the Petone Club. Tho scores were: — Victoria — Menolaus, Townseud, Redstone, Snaddon (skip), 24; Maitai — M'Echin, Milner, Whiting, Deo (skip), 14. Maitai— HHockey. Roberts. Frost, AY. Deo (skip), 21; Victoria— l r oss/2ttc, Godber, Loughton, 13r.ickenTidge, jun. (skip), 16. The final lu'ntch for the club paiis competition on the Thorndon green last night provided an interesting contest. Iho teams were : Hatch and Gamble (skip) v. Brice and Blanchard (skip). Scoring was 1 kept down to a minimum throughout, and at the end of tho twentieth head the caid showed 13 all. When Blanchard 1 had to deliver his last bowl his opponents wore lying two. He drove and misled, and tho game was won by Hatch ! and Gamble — 15 to 13.
