CHARGES OF THEFT.
[UT TIiLEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ASIIBURTON, This Day. At the Magistrate's Court to-day, before Mr. V. C. Day, S.M., T. Sutherland and James Denart were charged with stealing £9 10s from the house of Edward Aclanel at Winslow. Accused reserved their defence, and, after nearing evidence for /tho prosecution, the magistrate held that a pnma F acie case had been established, and committed them for trial at the Supreme Court, Christchurch, on 11th May. Bail was allowed. William C4,3orge Barrett, charged with stealing a cheque for £12 16s 2d, from J. Rodd, pleaded guilty, and was remanded for tho probation officer's report, bail being allowed.
