HOSPITAL BOARD.

Tho statutory meeting of the Hospitnl Board was 'held to-day, Mr. Jas Godber presiding. There were also present :—: — Messrs. R. C. Kirk, J. P. Luke, J. W. MacEwan, C. J. Crawford, and F. D. Mooro The estimates for the year, amounting to £23,000, as against £27,100 last year, wero approved, and the aportionmont on the local bodies, as drawn up, was made as follows. The apportionments for iho previous year being in parentheses : — Wellington City, £70"5M12s 4d (£9136 los), Horowhenua, £1122 2s -id (£9Bl 18s id) ; Hutt County, £669 Is 4d (£1163 6s); Makara, £330 8s Pd (nil); Lower Hutt Borough, £632 9s (£539 4s); Petono, £324 6s 8d £657 9s 4d) ; Onslow, £134 17s 8d (£297 los 8d) ; Karori, £283 17s (£333 13s Sd) ; Miramar, £176 0s Sd (£205 4s 4d) ; Eastbourne, £73 8s 4d (£95 3s 8d) ; Levin, £94 12s 4d (£63 2s); Johnsonvillo, £64 2s (£76 8s). Total, £11,500 (£13,550). Tt was decided to levy the apportionments above referred to on tho local bodies in four equal instalments, tho first instalment to be made due on Ist April next in lieu of 4th May, as formerly. The fire prevention water supply service at ths Otaki Sanatorium was disoussed and dealt with in committee. It was resolved to consider at next meeting of the board the New Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards Bill, taking it clause by clause, and to refer the deliberations to the coming conference of boards.
