THE GOVERNOR.

His Excellency the Governor and Lady Plunket attended St. Paul's Pro-Cathedral yesterday at the christening of an infant son of Mr. H. C. Waterfield, his Excellency's private secretary. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. A. de H. Robinson. The Governor presides at the meeting of the Rhodes Scholar Selection Committee this afternoon, and he leaves by the Maori for Christchurch to-night. To-morrow morning he will inspect tho new Technical College at Christchurch, /at 2.15 p.m. will present tho Royal Humane Society medals at the City Council Chambers ; and at 3 o'clock will lay the foundation stone of an addition to Christ College. The Governor, Lady Plunket and party leave Lyttelton in tho Tutanekai for Akaroa, Stewart Island, and tho West Coast Sounds.
