AMERICAN FINANCE. A CURRENCY BILL.

Senator Aldrich, explaining his Currency Bill in tho Sena-te, stated that in me event of emergency the Bill would enable d hundred million pounds of now money to be. placed in tho channels of trade within 48 hours. \ ___ ___ Mr. Aldrich is chairman oi the Committco of Finance. His Bill provides for tho issue of 500,000,000 dollars emergency currency in the form of National Bank notes taxable as high as six per cent., and withdrawable when tho financial emergency has ended. The amount of currency proposed was originally fixed at 250;000,000.
