CITY WATER SUPPLY.
■ AN ''EtfERGETIO ENGINEER. During the v last- two days a thorough inspection of the Wainuiamata reservoir resources' has , been made by Air. Mor- i ton, city engineer. He 'travelled far up j the Orongorongo river, across precipitous '< country seldom visited by man, and he i satisfied himself that in the watershed surrounding 'Wainui ( the city possesses a ' really excellent source of water supply. It is ",n.ly the possession of such a magnificent resource that has enabled the reservoir to withstand the heavy drain upon it during tho long months of dry weather experienced this summer. The ingress of 'water to ,the reservoir has necessarily been greatly reduced of late, but if the citizens continue that care in the use of water that has been shown ; by the great bulk of them since The Post led off the chorus of warnings the city should be able to withstand dry weather conditions for some further time wilhout necessity arising to restrict the hours of supply.
