The Fedcral-Houlder-Shire steamer Rippiiighain Grange arrived from West Coast of Lngland ports yesterday evening, via Las Talmas, Oapetown, and Auckland. Stie left Liverpool on the 23rd November, and osperierioed very rough weather untQ after passing- (he Bay of Biscay. Passing through tho Torrid zone ten days of extreme heat prevailed, in consequents of which two dogs, coueigue4 to Wellington, succumbed. A two hours' stay was made at the Cape. During the month's journey to Auckland favourable weather accompanied the vesseL port being: made on the 23rd inst. After the vessel had disemhaiked passengens and cargo, the voyage to Wellington was resumed on Wednesday. The Ripping-ham Grange has brought close on a hundred immigrants for New Zealand. The bookings are as follows:— Auckland, 30 ; Wellington, 30; Lyttelton, 10; and Dunedin, 15. Young married couples predominate. Among the men there are several farmers and a number of thd trades are well represented. Oapt&in H. H. Lay, who commands the steamer, has tho following officers with him : — Chief office*, Mr. G. At daybreak this morning the Shaw, SavUl, and Albion Company's liner Corinthic arrived at Wellington from London, Plymouth, Teneriffe, Capetown, and Hobart. The steamer left Lon Jon. on the 14th December. Plymouth was the final Entrlish port of call, and the Corinthio set out on tier Journey orcrura rrom there <?n tlie 15th December. Tho New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the eteamer Tongnrno arrived at Plymouth on Thursday from Wellington, via Monte Video and Temeriffe. A new cteel crank shaft is at present being forged at Messrs. Stevenson and Cook's works at Dunedin for the steamer Rotoiti, which is now undergoing repairs nt Wellington. The Union Company's steamer Koonya, which has replaced the Flora in consequence' of the alteration ot time-table, and is duo hero on Tuesday, is in charge of iCaptain J. ML. M'Kenzie, late of the Kini. The following officers accompany him ;i— Chief, Mr, A. E. Kane ; seoond, Mr. G. Cuthbert: third, Mr. G. M'Leod. A huge cargo of coal left Sydney last week for Melbourne. The big tramp steaoner Knight. Templar sailed from Port Jackson with 11,054 tons of coal for the Viotorian port. Thia is probably the largest cargo of coal ever shipped in one bottom from an Australian port.
