SATURDAY PROPOSED BY WANGANUI. [BI TEtEQEAr-H. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] _ WANGANUI, 29th January. An informal poll of tho ratepayers was taken to-day on tho question whether "the weekly half-holiday should bo observed on Thursday or Saturday. The poll resulted in 323 votes being cast for Thursday and 457 for Saturday. At a special meeting of tho Borough Oouiieil held in the evening ik was decided to recommend the Ministor of Labour to fix Saturday as the half-holiday for the combined district of Wanganui, Gonville, and Eaetbrook.
