[CT TELEGHAVH. — rjRi;S3 ASSOCIATION.] GORE.. 29th January. • A voto was taken ,to-day by the Gore' Borough Council on a proposal to raise 0 loan of £5500— £3000 for water supply extension and £2500 for exteneion and repairs to the electric light service. Both 1 roposals wero lo«t, the water by 109 to , 123, and tlie light by 185 to 149. The proposals wero submitted on a previous oiv cation (about a couple of moulha ago), and wore defcatod by practically the same majorities. / NAPIER, 29th January. A poll of ratepayers was taken to-day to decide thf queitioii of raising a loan of £6000 for tho purpose of erecting salt wator baths on tho beach fronting tho town. The proposal waa carried by twenty-five votes, tho figures being — for the proposal 252, against 227. Very little interest was taken in the poll.
