BILLIARDS.
A billiard match of 500 up will bo played between two Australian professionals — J. Smith and G. Leffler-^-in the Exchange Hall Billiard Saloon to-mor-row evening at 7.45 o'clock. Admission will be free, and invitation tickets will be obtainable at the rooms. LefQer has breaks of 200 and over to his credit, while Smith, playing at a recent tournament in Sydney, made successive breaks of 102, 98, 86, 76, and 70 (unfinished). On one occasion he made 500 in six breaks, including one of 283.
Polling for tho newly-formed Makara County election is taking plnco to-day. Seven polling booths have been arranged as follows : — Ohariu, Mr. William Bryant's house : Tawa Flat, the school ; Porirua, 'Mrs. Auty's Hall ; Ngahaurango, tho school; tho Post-oflico, Makara ; and the Hutt County Council office, Lambton-quay. At the lastnamed booth polling appears to be very Suiet. The result will b» declared bout nine o'clock to-riight.
