MASTERTON NEWS.

« WEATHER STILL HOT. WOOL EXPORT. [Bt Telegraph. — Special to The Post.] MASTERTON, This Day. To-day the heat is trying in town, and from the atmospheric conditions there is no prospect whatever of the drought breaking up. The appointment of Mr. E. Rawson, clerk of the court at Masterton, to the position of magistrate and warden at Westport, has been the subject of general favourable comment locally. Mr. Rawson has had long experience of court work, and as a law coach has had many successful pupils pass through his hands. The number of bales of wool despatched from Masterton railway station this season was 10,167, as against 9858 last year, an increase of 309.
