FATAL TRAP ACCIDENT.

JfOUNG MAN KILLED. A fatal accident occurred at Kel-burno-parado on Saturday afternoon. A young man named Bernard Keating, employed by Messrs. Wardell Bros., of Willis-street, ns a driver, had been delivering goods at Kelburne, and was returning to town down Kelbnrne-par-ade, when the horse stumbled, bub arose quickly, and bolted. A boy named Haroli Sim, who accompanied deceased on his rounds, and was m the cart at tho time, states that when the horse bolted deceased fell down between the front of the cact and the horse, and, as he was entangled in the reins, hewas dragged for about fifty yards. When deceased got clear of the reins a wheel of the cart passed over him. Sims jumped 'clear of the cart just before it capsized. A number of Kelburne Bowling Club members gavo assistance until the ambulance arrived, and conv&yed deceased to the hospital, where he died, as a result of internal injuries, at 10.50 o'clock on Saturday evening. Deceased was twenty-six years of age, and resided with Mr. Evans nt No. W, Epurii-street. He was a native of Ireland,' and, it is understood, has no relations in tho Dominion. About six years ago he arrived in Wellington from Queensland, and after attending St. Patrick's College for a year, ho went to work at Messrrs. Wardell Bros, where ho has been employed ever since. An inquest is being held this afternoon.
