At the Police Con it (his afternoon Alfred Crossey and his wife, boardinghousekeepeis, were sentenced lo one month <\n<\ three months' imprisonment concurrently on charges of illegally trafficking in intoxicating liquor. Mrs. Crossey, after the sentence had been passed, pleaded that she had several children to support, and the Magistrate promised lo reconsider her cisc in the morning. The police then proceeded with niue other charges of sly grog-selling against tho mule defendant, and he was committed for trial.
