MR. KEIR HARDIE, M.P. PATANGATA'S PROTEST.

The Unfit inga Borough Council last night received from tho chairman of the Patangala County Council a Le-ttrr covering the folfowing resolution passod id its Insb meeting: — "It being reported that Mr. Keir ilardiu intends Visiting New Zealand, in view of his recent utterances whilo in India, this council is strongly of opinion that ho should receive- no official recognition in his public capacity as a member of the British Legislature from any local body in tho Dominion." Tho council resolved that the- letter bo received, one councillor stating that he would bo sorry to say what he thought of its author.
