Advice has been received that the Russian ship Orient, which left Geelong on Bth June for East London, South Africa, with a cargo of wheat, is ashore in a bad position on the South African coast, near East London.

It Of 1647 tons net, and built in 1889 t by C. Connell and Co., Glasgow, the Orient is a steel ship, owned by Abo Rei deri Aktiebolag.
