STOCK MARKET.
CHRISTCHURCH, 31st July. The yarding of stock in most of the lines to-day was only moderate, and last week's pricea were fully maintained. The fat sheep pens contained some good stock of excellent quality, and the prices throughout were slightly firmer. There was a very poor entry of store sheep. They met with a ready demand, and last week's rates were fully maintained. There was a very small yarding of fat lambs, and prices remained about tho same as the previous week.- Freezers made 15s to 19s 6d, and light and unfinished 11s to 14s 6d. The yarding of fat sheep was up to that of last week, and late rates wore fully maintained. The vange> of prices was— - Wethers, extra prime 27s to 28s 6d, prime 22s 6d to 26s 6d, light 18s 6d to 225, unfinished 15s 3d to 17s 6d ; owes, prime 21s to 23s 3d, medium 16s to 20a, merino 16s to 18s, others to 12s 7d. Tha entry pf fat cattle comprised 257 i hetd, mostly of good quality. Steers made £6 15s to £12, heifera £5 to £8 17s 6d, Cows £4 10s to £9 2s 6d. The price of j beef ranged from 20s to 25s per 1001b. I There was a very fair yarding of good veal calves, which made from 6s to £2 15*. i There was a very fair yarding of storo j and dairy cattle of poor quality, which met with a very dull sale. Dairy cows made up to £6 15s. Pigj were yarded in large numbers, and were in good demand throughout the sale-. Heavy b^coners made from 60s to 74a, lighter 48s to 58s, equal to 5d per lb; porkers realised from 38s to 445, equal to sid to 6d per lb; lighter sorts 18s to 38s. Tli are was a large entry of stores, whioh met with a fair sale. Good stores made from 25* to 35e 6d, smaller from 14s upwards. Woajicrs 11s 6d to 13« 6d.
