LABOUR PARTY WILL HELP THE GOVERNMENT. | By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright BRISBANE, 30th July. When the Legislative Assembly met to-day tho Premier, Mr. Kidston, announced that the Government had received from tho Labour party a promise of general support, and under tho circumstances the Government would continue to carry on. Mr. Bowman, Leader of the Labour party, sUled that at the Premier's suggestion the party had agreed to support tho Government so long as it was not asked to support anything conflicting with tho Labour platform. The party would givo the Government a general support, while .maintaining freedom to criticise any of its measures.

On Tuesday last Mr. Kidston moved the postponement, till Tuesday, of the debate on the' Acldreta-in-Reply. He remarked that there were three parties of almost equal strength in the House, and ho had thought one of tho parties in opposition would have made a pretence of Rupporting the Government. Had that been done It vvauld have been his duty to retain office. The House adjourned, and it was believed that a coalition would be arranged between the partios led by Mr. Kidston and My. Philp. With a solid Labour support the Ministry would have a voting power of 42, against 30 by tho Opposition.
