May I bi permitted to inform your readers that the leaguo in in a better position now than at any previous time during its history? By the effluxion of time the executive was removed from Wellington to Christchurch. The league has a' sum of £200 at its disposal for the purpose of employing an organiser, and is considering a Echemo of campaign in connection with the general election duo some 18 months hence. The league welcomes any improved constitution of rts sister bodies, the Trades Councils, which will make them moro effective So many of the workers of New Zealand, and especially of Wellington, are recoiving incomes insufficient for a satisfactory livelihood, due to low wages, unemployment, and casual employment, all three evils beinjr duo to certain specifiii causes, that thero is room for both the Political Labour League and tho Federation of Trades Councils in order that something more than a pympathetio hearing to a deputation can bo obtained from Ministers. The Government, when sincere over reforms having for their object the improvement of tho condition of tho workers, could rply on recoiving tho support of any member of the league olected to tho House of Representatives, but such support would not be given for measurex inimical to tho wealth-producers of the colony. — I am, etc., CHAS.
