" Dr. Taylor, who is now Mayor of San Francisco, has appointed sixteen supervisors of high standing, including nw-r-chants and bankers, to succeed the "grafters." Dr. Taylor invited the labour union leaders to sorve on the board, but the offer was not accepted. Dr. Taylor has succeeded' Schmitz as Mayor of San Francisco. Schmitz was rooently sentenced to a term of imprisonment for gigantic frauds.
