River Plato mutton it quoted at 3gd per 1b for light-weights, and 3£d per 1b for heavy-weighti). Tho lamb market is \ory firm. There in & good demand for all descriptions, and supplies aro increasing. Canterbury lamb 13 quoted at sjjd, and other than Canterbury s^d per lb. The beef market in • shade weaker. Hindquarterp arb quoted at 3£d, forequarters at 3d per lb. Tbo butter market is rather quiet. Transactions nro very limited, and large supplies are corning forward. Choicest New Zealand butter is quoted at 993, Danish Ills, Siberian 935, Irish XOls per cwt. Tho cheese market is dull, and buyers are holding back expecting prices to go lower. Now Zealand cnebse is quoted at 60s ; Canadian, white 555, coloured 57b per cwt. Ths hemp market is quiet, but rather steadier. Good fair grade on spot in quoted at £35 lOu, fair grade in tho same position £30 10s. Pair current Manila- on spot £36 10a. July-September shipments, Rood fair Wellington £3+ 193, fair grade £50: Tht-ro has been no alteration in the cocksfoot seed market «moo Irs: week. The wheat market is firm.
