Race, Canadian Commissioner at the Exhibition, and Mr. A. A. Longdoii, Biitish Art Comminsion&r, were present, and wero accorded a farewell. Mr. Reaco stat'd that ono result of the Exhibition would be to increase trado between Cai.ada and Now Zealand. MM I.1 '. Longdcn urged that the duty on works of ait coming in from other parts should bo rcnoved. Mr. Race left on his return journey to-night.
Mr. Ericsou, lighthoustkeopcr nt Jack's Point, writes under date 26i.1i to ihc Timaru Horald : — "One of the Exhibition seu.l3 I'tber.ited at New Brighton called in at this place to-day. He had evidentlty not forgotten his association with man, as he allowed me to scratch his back, and would hive gone to sleep had it not been that my dog was fussing around and barking at him. He went to sea in the afternoon, and was steering south when last seen."
