THE BARQUE STEPHANO RAZETTO.

Three motions ir> the caso of Brodrick and Co. versus the baique Stephano Rar.etto camo befuvo his> Honour Mr. Justice Williams in Chambers yesterday. It will bo remembered that early in this mouth Stephano Razetto, an Italian barquo, arrived at the Bluff on outward vpyage. Sho encountered bad weather in the Indian Ocean, and was towed dis. mastod into Fremantle, Western Australia. In connection with her refitting cargo to amount of £5000 was discharged, for which amount Lloyds' bold bottomry bonds covering the ship, freight and cargo. On her arrival at the Bluff Lloyds' "agent wont aboard and took possession of the ship. The three motions were for appraisement and sale of the barque, for the removal of goods under arrest, and *or the lc'.oaco of goods under arrest. Mr. J. Cook, who appeared for the captain of the barque, to oppose the motion for her appraisement and sale, said he aEked that the sale be postponed until there had been an opportunity for examining the ship. He concluded by saying that she would havo to be docked and examined at the noxfc port as soon as the cargo was discharged. The effect of an immediate j ordor for sale would mean that tho purchaser would not accept a certificate as that of a first-class vessel. Mr. Hosking, who appeared for the cargo own are, eaid it had been agreed upon to get the cargo released from arrest. The sooner the matter was ended the better for all parties. His Honour : When will the cargo be out of tho ship? ' Mr. Cook ; "They started yesterday, and it should be out in about thirty days." As far as the crew were concerned they were no longer required, and could be sent back home at any time. There were large arrears of wages, about £1000, but the bottomry bond-holders would not be the only people interested on this account, as the crew under Italian Jaw had to be sent home at the cost of the ship. Mr. Hosking asked that the matter stand over until Tuesday to give time for enquiry into the time necessary to got the cargo out and into the necessity for me hull being surveyed. His Honour accordingly ordered Oho motion for aprnissment and sale to stand over until next siitirgs in Chambers, and granted the motions for removal and releise of the caigo from arrest by consent.
