THE HIDES MARKET. [PHE33 ASSOCIATION.] MELBOURNE, 30th May. Tho hides market is steady. Prices for good conditioned lots aro rather in favour of sellers. Abraham and Williams- Ltd., report : — At Palinerston to-day a very largo entry of Cittlo came forward, including several big Hues of 2 and 3-year steers, and ai buyers were present for this class of cattlq a, good clearance was mado. Very few lots went away unsold. Tho yarding of sheep was smaller than usual, and with few exception?, of inferior quality. Good lines sold readily Aged ewes and poor limbs were difficult to quit. Quotations — 4 and S-tooth ewea in lamb 14s 8d to 16s 7d, cull ewes in lamb 8s to 11s Bd, lambs 103 7d to lla lOd, cull lambs 5s Id to 7s sd, Etore wethers 15s Sd, empty ewes 10s 8d to Us 6d, forward bullocks £6 17s 6d, 3-year steers £4 Ss 6d to £4 15s, 2i-year steers £3 17s to £4 2s, 2-year steers £3 3s to £3 15s, 18-month steers £2 5s to £2 Bs, good weaners 2Ca to 255, wethers 12< to 15s, yearling heifers 21s to 26a, heifers in calf £2 8s to £3 10s, fat cows £3 5s to £4 Bs, forward cows £2 5s to £3, store cows 25s to 355.
