O'NEILL'S BUCKJUMPERS. ' The commencement of the Wellington eeason of the unique entertainments as given by the noted New Zealand horoemen, the O'Neills, at the Christchurch Exhibition has been fixed for Friday next, 24th inst. Tho location in Cuba-street, immediately adjoining the Opera House, is being prepared for the reception of tho large marquees and other paraphernalia necessary for those exhibitions, which promise to grove of a very popular character. Mr. Charles MacMahon has been able to complete arrangements whereby Misa Button, of Christchurch, who is generally accounted one of the best horsewomen in New Zealand, will visit Wellington with the organisation, and take part in the performances, which will be given upon the same scale as at Christchurch, where they ran right through the currency of the International Exhibition with great success.
A benefit social gathering is announced to be held in the Druids' Hall next Friday evening, in aid of Mrs. Mulholland, who is stated to be in needy circumstances. The fourth "extended night" of the season is announced by the Empire Quadrille Assembly for Thursday, 23rd May.
The Lower Hutt Methodists have decided to hold services at the Upper Hutt. The opening takes place tomorrow, when Rev. R. Wilson will preach in the Town Hall at 7 pja.
