An eight-year-old boy named Frederick Gourlay was run into ty a motor cyclist on the New Brighton beach this afternoon, and suffered injuries from whifch ho died shortly afterwards. The cyclist (William Moorhousa) was practising for the motor races which ore to be held on^tho beach to-morrow afternoon, and was travelling at a fitst pace when the boy ran across the track. The lad was knocked a distance of about ten yards. He_ had three ribs broken and a kiieo splintered, besides other injuries. GISBORNE, 22nd March. A verdict of accidental death, no blame being attachable to any one, was returned in regard to the death of Andrew Sharp, traveller for the Phoenix Biscuit and Confectionery Co., of 6unodin.
