Owing {o-^he long-continued drought i and scarcity of food, stock is selling at ridiculous prices in Central Otago. Afc Ida Valley recently a lino of sheep were disposed of at Is each, and fat sheep which last year brought from 12s tolss are now offering at half-a-crown. Should a hard winter set in, it will prove disastrous to farmers and settlers throughout Central Otago.
